Addressing multiple needs, assistive listening devices can supplement hearing aids and implantable devices, or work as a replacement to them. They can be used in one-on-one or group conversations; for telephone communication; and for improved reception of TV, radio, PC and MP3 audio. They must overcome the effect of distance and/or the effects of background noise.
Depending on the application, assistive listening devices may combine algorithms originally designed for other applications such as Bluetooth headsets or hearing aids. In most instances, fully customised sound processing software is required for optimized performance. We have previously adapted our algorithms for use in assistive listening devices and we are well positioned to provide advice to new customers about how to achieve the best results with their product idea.
Because of the many technical challenges of these products, we prefer to work directly with customers.
